How to Make a Low Carb Beefy Noodle Bake with Shirataki Noodles
Beefy Noodle Bake Shirataki noodles are great for a low carb diet.

They contain no carbs or calories and don't have a flavor of their own so they blend into recipes well.

The noodles can be used like regular pasta and just topped with a sauce, but they also work very well in a casserole like this one.

* Ingredients *

1 lb ground beef
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar or other hard cheese
2 pkgs (9 oz each)
shirataki noodles

* Step 1 *

350 Degrees Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

* Step 2 *

9x9 Pan Grease a 9" x 9" baking pan.

Set aside.

* Step 3 *

Brown Beef Brown the ground beef in a medium frying pan.

Drain and set aside.

* Step 4 *

Beat Eggs In a large bowl, beat the eggs with a fork until creamy.

* Step 5 *

Add Seasonings Add the seasonings and beat with the fork again.

* Step 6 *

Add Cheese Add the cheese and mix well with a spoon.

* Step 7 *

Add Meat Add the cooked ground beef and mix well with the spoon.

* Step 8 *

Rinse Noodles Rinse the noodles in a wire colander under running water.

Drain well.

* Step 9 *

Add Noodles Run the noodles in a blender or food processor to chop them into small pieces, if necessary.

Add the noodles to the meat/cheese mixture and mix well.

* Step 10 *

Spread in Pan Pour and spread the mixture in the prepared baking pan.

* Step 11 *

Bake for 50 minutes.

* Step 12 *

Let Sit Remove from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes.

* Step 13 *

Cut into squares and serve.

Number of servings depends on size of squares.

* Tips *

- Using orzo-shaped noodles eliminates the need to run the noodles through a blender.

- Shirataki noodles are very filling, so servings don't need to be large.

- Some shirataki noodles contain soy. Check the ingredients if you want/need to avoid soy products.

- Shirataki noodles have a slightly fishy smell when first opened, but rinsing them well will remove it.
